Education Module

Development Update

Web-based learning is one medium for educators to provide individuals with valuable information regarding Alzheimer care practices and new treatments. However, in a review of Canadian websites that aim at educating individuals, from family caregivers to the professional; there is a lack of information that focuses on the realistic aspects of caring for someone with Alzheimer Disease, such as socio-emotional issues. In response to this need, MAREP in partnership with the Functional Abilities Program (FAP) and the Centre for Learning and Teaching Through Technology (LT3) at the University of Waterloo have collaborated to build an interactive, web-based Education Module related to Alzheimer Disease. The goal of the Education Module is to reach out and engage persons with dementia, caregivers, families, professionals, and students with online health education materials that will help each person understand the disease in an interactive fashion.

A sample of our new Education Module is now available. Please note that not all areas are completed yet.
