Designing for Diversity in Dementia Care Conferences

Between 1999-2002 , as part of the Ontario Alzheimer Strategy, MAREP in partnership with the Alzheimer Society of Ontario and the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care, hosted Designing for Diversity in Dementia Care conferences annual which focused on providing quality care for persons with dementia and more specifically looking at ways to create and augment individual, social, physical and organizational environments that enhance the quality of life for people with Alzheimer's disease or a related dementia.

(2002) Designing for Diversity in Dementia Care

This was the fourth year for such an event. It explored innovative approaches to enhance the quality of life for persons living with dementia, and addressed diversity in environmental design with a focus on dementia.

(2001) Designs for Dementia: Integrating Systems of Care

This was the third year for such an event. It explored the provision of dementia care in a variety of settings, including home, community, acute care, and long-term care.

(2000) Designs for Dementia Care: Components of the Total Environment

This was the second year for this event. It explored the four key components essential to quality care for persons with dementia: individual environment, social environment, physical environment and organizational environment.

(1999) Designs for Quality of Life

This was the first of four annual conferences that focused on designing for diverity in dementia care.
